Composite Scandinavia is a developer and manufacturer of transparent, safe and lightweight composite pressure cylinders for the industry and consumer markets.

For more than twenty years, the company has been at the cutting edge of LPG cylinder development. Today they offer a wide range of hermetic composite LPG containers for industrial and household use, manufactured through a highly automated process.

Pioneering the field of LPG cylinder development and manufacturing, Composite Scandinavia aims to increase costumer profitability by providing transparent, safe and light-weight LPG cylinders for vapor as well as liquid withdrawal towards the household-, leisure- and industry markets.

The product at a glance

The Composite Scandinavia product range is a series of transparent composite LPG cylinders made of glass-fiber reinforced vinyl ester. The material properties and ingenious design provide a transparent, lightweight, highly cost-efficient product that is safe and easy to handle.

Transparency: all cylinders in the product range are transparent, enabling the user to easily control gas levels inside the container at any time, knowing exactly when a refill is needed. Composite Scandinavia has developed the most transparent gas bottle on the market.

Easy handling: the cylinders are light. They are made of fiberglass-reinforced vinyl ester and weighs nearly 50 percent less than a conventional steel cylinder. This means facilitated transportation, easier handling and according to LPG suppliers - reduced refill costs.

User-minded design: the CS product range has an ingeniously simple design. The containers are corrosion-free, requiring minimal maintenance and service. The casing is designed for easy handling and stacking and it complies with all commonly applied industrial standards. It also allows customization to accommodate specific company logotypes and colors.

Strength and safety: CS offers maximum safety. The products are designed according to advanced stress calculations, making it resilient and very impact resistant. They are also corrosion-free, and since pressure testing is conducted with air only, no traces of water, antifreeze or corrosion will be found in the cylinders. This minimizes maintenance needs and is a vital property especially for industrial users, as corrosion can cause severe damage on e.g. propane-powered forklift trucks. All CS products are provided with fuse able plug or pressure release-fuse to improve safety and fire capacity

Product development is performed through regular testing and in close co-operation with the Swedish authorities. Over the years, testing has been monitored and registered by representatives from Swedish and international industrial testing organizations such as one of the internationally noted inspection bodies, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), and the National Board for Explosives and Flammable.

Environmental approach: The CS product range minimizes environmental impact. An in-depth life cycle analysis (LCA*) of different LPG cylinders showed that composite cylinders had less impact on the environment compared to steel and aluminum cylinders.
